How I work...
I am a Humanistic counsellor which means my work is grounded in the ‘here-and-now’ of how we live our life. Past experiences and relationships are explored in terms of the impact they have on the person we are today.
I work on a face-to-face basis with young people and adults and as part of an integrative approach to counselling I weave together different but cohesive theories drawn from:
- Person-Centred therapy
- Existential philosophy
- Gestalt
Working this way encourages an honest exploration of attitudes and assumptions alongside the free expression of feelings and opinions. But for this to happen the relationship I develop with clients remains of the utmost importance throughout my work."It's the relationship that heals..."

Area of Special Interest
I have worked for several years as a volunteer counsellor at the Fountain Centre in the Royal Surrey County Hospital where I supported cancer patients, their families and carers. This has led me to develop a special interest in working with people coming to terms with life changing or terminal illness, as well as issues concerned with bereavement and loss.
