GUILDFORD COUNSELLING AND PSYCHOTHERAPY

Professional and compassionate support for mental health issues including anxiety and depression. Time and space to explore your life, in your words. Free 30 minute introductory session.

Hello and welcome...

Even at the best of times, life can be challenging. The demands of modern living can often leave us overwhelmed and emotionally depleted. Relationships may become strained; friendships drift and we start to feel at odds with ourselves. We begin to question our choices and perhaps feel stuck and unable to see a clear way ahead.

Whether this is the first time you’ve thought about counselling or if you’re returning to therapy – talking things through with a counsellor is a brave first step in navigating your way out of confusion and freeing yourself from negative thoughts and feelings.

Home. MeSept20

My name is Hannah and I am a friendly, professional, humanistic counsellor and psychotherapist working online and in Shalford near Guildford and Godalming also within easy reach of the surrounding Surrey villages.

You may feel alone in your struggle but by finding the courage to speak of what matters to you, difficult and painful feelings can be explored, understood and potentially resolved.

The events of recent years have been incredibly challenging. If you are feeling stressed or anxious and finding it hard to cope with uncertainty and constant change, counselling can help restore perspective and give you an opportunity to talk openly about how you feel in a confidential and respectful space where:

  • You will be listened to and feel supported and accepted.
  • You are the focus and your well-being is a priority.
  • You can get to know yourself better and feel more grounded.

Experienced Counsellor and Psychotherapist located in Guildford, Surrey

Whether in-person or online, I am committed to providing a safe, confidential and non-judgemental environment where together we can talk things through. I work with individuals on a 1:1 basis and according to what suits your needs best, humanistic counselling can be either short or long-term.

Finding a counsellor may feel daunting; to help with this I offer a free 30 minute initial session to explore whether or not we’re right for each other. I am also happy to answer any questions by phone or email without further obligation.

How to connect

Sessions can take place in-person, online or over the telephone. Should you have any questions concerning this please don't hesitate to get in touch. Social distancing and self-isolation do not have to be a barrier to you getting the support you need. You don’t have to face life’s challenges alone.

What's Worrying You?

As a counsellor and psychotherapist my work covers a wide range of issues including:

  • Anxiety and depression
  • Bereavement and loss
  • Gender and sexuality
  • Life changes
  • Personal development
  • Redundancy and work worries
  • Relationship issues and breakdowns
  • Stress
  • Terminal illness

About me

Before training to become a qualified therapeutic counsellor I worked as a press officer for the UK's leading dementia charity and prior to that as a broadcast journalist for the BBC. My media career taught me how important it is for people to feel understood - for their story to be told and for their voice to be heard. These values now form the foundation of my professional work as a therapist, as I continue to prize individual experience and the courage it takes to confront life’s challenges.

Area of Specialism

I have also worked for several years as a volunteer counsellor for the Fountain Centre charity at the Royal Surrey County Hospital, supporting people whose lives have been affected by cancer. This experience has led to a special interest in grief and loss related issues and the struggle individuals face in coming to terms with a life that's been thrown off course.
